Usekwu Foods LLC (The FUFU PLACE) is a family-owned African restaurant and grocery market in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the only Nigerian food business in the city. It serves authentic Nigerian dishes, with Fufu and Egusi soup as its signature item, along with catering for weddings, corporate events and community celebrations. It also sells African groceries and kitchenware. The business grew out of community demand and has operated as a ghost kitchen for a few years, reaching customers through takeout, growers’ markets and catering. Now located at 1407 4th Street SW, Unit A, Usekwu Foods’ bigger picture is to move to a full restaurant and grocery store as it continues to bring Nigerian (Igbo) food and culture to more people.
