LOBOmotorsports is an interdisciplinary team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science students at the University of New Mexico who design and build a formula-style electric vehicle for the Formula SAE competition. The team divides into smaller sub-teams for systems including Chassis, Suspension and Steering, Brakes, Aerodynamics, Powertrain, and Data Acquisition. The three-semester program applies academic knowledge with a focus on cost, schedule, and performance—skills valued in industry. The submission notes FSAE alumni receiving offers from organizations such as Formula 1, Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Sandia National Laboratories, Boeing, and others.
