Michael started his glass training at Jacksonville University in 2009 after quickly falling in love with the medium. He enjoys the ability to work with a material as both liquid and solid helped rewire how to think about creating forms and structures. He is engaged by its many possibilities and almost limitless potential. With glass, we flow an idea into creation, all the while working with the rules and physics of the universe. Cherishing sculpted glass and having a desire to discover creations one wouldn’t expect to see in the medium. He believes this pushes the material and himself to new and unexpected places while practicing skills rooted in a process thousands of years old.
